Status Update: New England Air Transport, Inc Suspends Passenger Service Linking PWM Jetport with Aroostook County

(FRENCHVILLE, ME. October 18, 2009) — New England Air Transport Inc. has suspended passenger service which launched September 26, 2008 just a little more than one year ago. David Fernald Sr. the president of New England Air Transport, Inc states, "until we come out of this current economic downturn it is unlikely that cash from operations will be sufficient to support continued scheduled flight service between PWM and Aroostook County. "It is with sadness that we come to this decision" , states Fernald. We have had the pleasure and honor of serving many special people during the past year. This service is still needed, but without much needed cash backing to work through the growth process of a new venture this is the only responsible  course to take.  We take this opportunity to thank our clients, vendors, financial partners, friends, and family for your support, encouragement and prayers.  ‘This service restored a regular air link between PWM/Portland International Jetport with Presque Isle and the St John Valley in Aroostook County’.

On demand charter service may continue to be available if we are able to reorganize. If you are interested in supporting this effort please contact New England Air Transport, Inc.  using the contact information above.
